Hampton Roads Junk Removal FAQ
Hampton Roads Junk Removal, Answered
How photo pricing works, what happens on a PCS move-out, why carpet and cabinets never make it onto the city’s bulky list, and how we get across the water to the Peninsula. If your question isn’t here, text it and we’ll reply.
Prices
How is my price calculated?
From the photos you send. Each item is identified and matched to its published Hampton Roads price, and the total shows up before you pick a time. Add another photo and the total updates.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, $100. A single couch ($126) or a refrigerator ($164) covers it by itself.
Do stairs or a third floor cost more?
No. Walk-ups, attics and upstairs bedrooms are included in the flat price.
When is truck-fill cheaper than item prices?
On bigger jobs. A quarter truck is $241 and a full sixteen-yard load $732; the quote uses whichever works out lower for you.
Booking and the Crew
Can you work around my PCS pack-out?
Yes. Give us the pack-out and move-out dates and we’ll book a window before the inspection. See PCS move-outs.
Do you go to Hampton and Newport News?
Yes — Hampton, Poquoson, Fort Monroe and southeast Newport News. Because of the tunnels, Peninsula jobs are scheduled in set windows.
Do I have to be home?
Not always. For a porch, carport or yard pickup, approve the quote and leave access details.
Can you take a wall-mounted TV?
Yes. The crew takes TVs down from standard mounts.
Where Things End Up
Do you donate furniture?
Usable pieces are set aside for donation before the rest is disposed of.
How are fridges and AC units handled?
A certified technician recovers the refrigerant before the metal is recycled.
What can’t you take?
Hazardous waste such as paint thinners, chemicals and fuel, plus anything unsafe to lift. Ask if you’re not sure.
City and County Rules
What won’t Virginia Beach bulky pickup take?
Building materials, carpet, cabinets, doors, sinks, toilets, cardboard boxes, bags, tires and computer towers, among others. All of those are things we haul. More on the bulk pickup rules.
How much can I put out in Chesapeake?
One pile up to 4 by 4 by 10 feet per week, 12 times a year, with no construction debris or tires.
Is there curbside pickup in Moyock or Knotts Island?
No. Currituck County has no curbside collection in our area; residents drive to convenience centers with a windshield permit. We carry it out and haul it for you.
Didn’t See Your Question?
Or just photograph the pile and see the price.
