Remodel & Flood Debris Removal Hampton Roads

Construction & Flood Debris in Hampton Roads

This is the biggest gap in the local pickup programs. Virginia Beach won’t collect carpet, cabinets, doors, sinks, toilets or building materials at the curb, and Chesapeake leaves construction debris, fencing and roofing out of its bulk trash too. We take all of it from inside the house: rolled carpet is $68, a full kitchen of cabinets $293.

  • Doors, windows and fencing
  • Bagged and boxed job-site debris

Flood & Storm Cleanouts

Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and Hurricane Isabel in September 2003 is the storm people here still compare every other one to. Virginia Beach also runs a flood-protection program in neighborhoods like Windsor Woods, Princess Anne Plaza and The Lakes.

Wet Carpet First

Soaked carpet and pad get heavy fast and start to smell within days. It’s the first thing we pull out, and the first thing curbside pickup refuses.

Cut-Out Drywall

Once the lower section of wall comes out, the bags and sheets pile up. We take them straight from the room.

Furniture That Can’t Be Saved

Upholstered pieces that sat in water usually go. Solid pieces that dried out may be worth keeping — we’ll leave that call to you.

Bay-Side Streets

Ocean View, Willoughby Spit and the Lynnhaven neighborhoods see the most high-water calls. Lynnhaven →

Debris Removal FAQs

Will Virginia Beach pick up old carpet?

No. Carpet, cabinets, doors, sinks, toilets and building materials are all excluded from the city’s bulky pickup. We take them from inside the house.

How much does it cost to haul away flood-damaged carpet?

A rolled carpet is $68, or $71 per room when we pull it up. A whole flooded floor usually prices better as truck-fill, from $241.

Do you take kitchen remodel debris?

Yes. A full cabinet rip-out is $293, and counters, appliances and flooring go on the same trip.

Can you come the day after a storm?

Often, yes, when crews have space. After a big storm demand spikes, so book as soon as you know what needs to go.

Do you do demolition?

No. We haul debris that’s already been removed or is loose; tearing out walls or floors is a contractor’s job.
