Junk Removal Virginia Beach & Hampton Roads

Junk Removal Across the 757

Hampton Roads isn’t one city with one trash day. Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk each run their own pickup with their own list of things they won’t touch, and military orders keep households moving all year. Send a photo, get one flat price, and a crew carries everything out: a sofa is $126, a refrigerator $164.

The same prices apply from the Oceanfront to Ghent, Great Bridge, Churchland and Harbour View, across the tunnel in Hampton, and over the state line in Moyock.

✓Insured, vetted haulers
✓Same-day when a crew is free
✓Flat photo-quoted pricing
✓No hidden charges
✓COI support
✓Donation and recycling
✓Carried out from any floor

Hampton Roads Junk Removal Prices

Every item carries one published price, and the carry from a third-floor Ghent apartment, an Oceanfront condo elevator or a Great Bridge garage is already inside it.

These are the pieces people ask about most. The quote page holds the full, current list.

What the Price Covers

  • Crew labor and loading
  • Stairs, elevators and long carries
  • Removal from inside the house or garage
  • Refrigerant recovery for fridges and freezers
  • Transfer-station and landfill fees
  • Donation drop-offs for usable pieces

Whole Jobs Priced by Volume

For a garage, a flooded den or a full move-out, paying by space in the truck usually wins. A quarter of the sixteen-yard truck is $241, half is $431 and the whole thing is $732. Every quote is worked out both ways, and you pay the lower one.

How a Hampton Roads Pickup Works

1

1. Send the picture

One armchair or a whole townhouse of furniture — each piece is identified and matched to the local price list.

2

2. Choose a time

Correct anything the photo missed, then pick a window. Peninsula jobs are booked in set windows so the tunnel doesn’t decide your afternoon.

3

3. Carried out and sorted

An insured local crew does the lifting, then routes each piece to donation, a recycler or licensed disposal.

JunkRabbit Services Around Hampton Roads

Each service page has its own local prices, the pickup rules that apply and the questions people here ask most:

PCS Orders? Clear It Out Before the Movers

Naval Station Norfolk is home port for US Fleet Forces Command, NAS Oceana is the Navy’s East Coast master jet base, and Langley sits across the water as half of Joint Base Langley–Eustis. That adds up to a region where a lot of households are always packing.

Before the Pack-Out

The worn couch, the bed frame that won’t fit the next house and the garage overflow shouldn’t count against your weight allowance. We take them before the household goods ship.

After the Truck Leaves

Whatever the movers left behind — grills, a chest freezer, broken patio chairs — goes in one visit so the rental is empty for its walk-through.

Off-Base Rentals

Most PCS jobs are in Kempsville, Great Neck, Ocean View, Chesapeake and Hampton rentals. Great Neck and Oceana →

Base Housing

Gated installations need visitor clearance before a truck can come through. Book a little earlier and we’ll arrange access with you.

What City Bulk Pickup Won’t Take

The Southside cities run generous bulk programs, but each has a list of refusals and a timetable. Knowing yours tells you whether you need us at all.

Virginia Beach

Request pickup at least three days ahead of your trash day and set items out between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. The city won’t take carpet, cabinets, doors, sinks, toilets, building materials, cardboard boxes, bagged items or computer towers.

Chesapeake

One pile up to four by four by ten feet per collection, twelve times a year. Construction debris, fencing, roofing and tires aren’t part of it.

Norfolk

Request by 3 p.m. the day before collection. Electronics aren’t picked up at all — they go to the drop-off on Woodland Avenue, Tuesdays and Saturdays only.

Currituck, NC

Moyock and Knotts Island have no curbside pickup of any kind. Residents haul everything to a convenience center themselves, with a county permit on the windshield.

Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News set their own rules, so check with your city before you plan around them. If the pile is small, already at the curb and on the allowed list, the city program may be the cheaper answer. If it’s carpet out of a flooded room, a sectional from the second floor, boxes from a move or anything you need gone today, that’s the job we do.

A Normal Week Around the 757

Orders, leases, hurricane season and summer rentals set the rhythm here more than the calendar does. These are the jobs that fill it.

What We Haul Most

  • PCS move-outs from off-base rentals
  • Water-damaged carpet and furniture
  • Oceanfront and Sandbridge rental refreshes
  • Old-house cleanouts in Norfolk and Portsmouth
  • Garage clear-outs in Chesapeake and Suffolk
  • ODU, Norfolk State and Hampton U move-outs
i
Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, and Hurricane Isabel in September 2003 is still the storm people here measure others by. After high water, carpet and drywall are exactly what curbside programs turn away.

Sorted, Not Just Dumped

Usable furniture goes to donation, refrigerators and freezers go through refrigerant recovery, and metal goes to a scrap recycler. The rest goes to licensed disposal.

Sorting is part of the price.

Both Sides of the Water

Hampton, Poquoson, Fort Monroe and south Newport News get the same prices as the Southside. We book the Peninsula in set windows so the tunnel traffic is our problem, not yours.

Why Hampton Roads Uses JunkRabbit

A Number Before We Drive

The price comes from your photo, not from someone sizing up the pile in your driveway and naming a figure.

We Take the Refusals

Carpet, cabinets, boxes, bagged clutter and computers — the things city bulk pickup leaves on the curb are what we’re built for.

Inside, Not Curbside

Upstairs bedrooms, condo units and back-of-the-garage storage all count. You don’t drag anything to the street.

No Twelve-Pickup Limit

Chesapeake caps bulk collection at twelve piles a year. We come as often as you need, as big as the job is.

Insured Crews

Vetted, insured haulers, with a certificate of insurance for condo towers and apartment buildings that ask for one.

One Price Region-Wide

Pungo to Poquoson and Knotts Island to Holland, everyone pays the same published prices.

Hampton Roads Junk Removal FAQs

How much does junk removal cost in Virginia Beach?

It’s priced from your photo. Common 757 jobs: sofa $126, queen mattress $103, fridge $164, 42–65″ TV $68. Larger jobs run from $241 for a quarter of the truck to $732 for the full load, with a $100 minimum.

Why won’t the city take my carpet?

Virginia Beach’s bulky pickup excludes carpet, building materials, cabinets, doors, toilets and bagged items. Chesapeake excludes construction debris too. We take all of it, rolled or cut, from inside the house.

Can you clear a rental before my PCS move-out inspection?

Yes. Tell us your pack-out and inspection dates when you book, and we’ll hold a window in between so the house is empty for the walk-through.

Do you go to Hampton and Newport News?

Yes — Hampton, Poquoson, Fort Monroe and south Newport News, at the same prices as the Southside. Peninsula jobs are scheduled in windows because of the tunnels.

Do you serve Moyock and Knotts Island in North Carolina?

Yes. Currituck County has no curbside pickup, so we come to the house and carry everything out. Knotts Island jobs route through Pungo.

What happens to the things you haul away?

Usable furniture goes to donation first, appliances have their refrigerant recovered and their metal recycled, and whatever can’t be reused goes to licensed disposal.

Ready to Clear It Out?

Send a photo and see your flat price in seconds — from $100, Sandbridge to Harbour View, Moyock to Poquoson.

No waiting on a bulk request, no pile-size limit, nothing to drag to the street.
